1999年マルメで結成。本作はボーカルDennis Röndum、ギタリストのMarcus NilssonとPeter Persson、ベーシストCalle Löfgren、ドラマーNiklas Dewerudの5人で制作されている。当時Dennisはドラマーとして、そしてNiklasはベーシストとしてSpawn of Possesionにも在籍していた。両バンドを比べるとそのサウンドは酷似しているが、Visceral Bleedingはストップ&ゴーを繰り返しながらアクセルを踏み込むようなスラッシュ・メタルの影響が感じられる。捲したてるように展開するガテラル・ヴォイス、火の粉をあげながら炸裂するギターソロとリフは中毒性抜群。
