2012年にスタジオ・プロジェクトとして始まったAstronoid。次第にその知名度を上げ、ライブ活動も展開するようになった。プログレッシヴ・メタルからロック、ポスト・メタルにシューゲイズなど幅広いジャンルを横断するそのサウンドは高く評価され、これまでにPerophery、Animals As Leaders、Zeal & Ardor、Ghostなどと共演を果たしている。
2002年に結成された彼らは、Cap’n Jazzの楽曲からバンド名を取った。ベース/ボーカルのTyson Stevens（後にボーカル/ソングライター）、ギターのChad Crawford、DJ Wilson（後にベースに転向)、Steve Kirby、キーボードのPouyan Afkary、ドラムのPeter Costaの6人組はまだ高校生だった。資金をかき集めデビューEP『After Dark』をレコーディングを制作すると、2003年の高校卒業を機に一度は解散も考えられたというが、フルタイム・バンドとして動き出すことを決意。バンドはImmortal Recordsと契約し、ファースト・アルバム『The City Sleeps in Flames』をリリースした。
2007年にセルフタイトル・アルバムをリリースすることには、スクリーモ/ポストハードコア・ムーヴメントの中心で活躍するようになっていた。 SONY MUSIC系列のRCA Recordsへと移籍し、Warped Tourへの出演など精力的にツアーを行う。Escape The Fate、Saosin、Chiodos、Pierce the Veilといったバンドらと同様に、シーンの一角を担うバンドへと成長していた。順調かに見えたバンドであったが、2009年に解散を示唆。何度もドラマーが入れ替わるなどメンバーラインナップが落ち着かないなど不安定な部分もあった。解散までの最後の一年は、現在MOD SUNとしてロックスターになったDerek Smithがドラマーとして在籍している。
解散から4年、2014年10月20日の朝、ヘロインの過剰摂取の疑いでボーカルだったTylerが29歳の若さで急逝。このニュースはスクリーモ/ポストハードコア・ファンに大きな衝撃を与えた。 2019年には、Tylerを追悼する「Loved Forever」と題した楽曲をScary Kids Scaring Kids名義で発表された。同年11月には『The City Sleeps in Flames発売15年記念ツアー』を開催。元Saosinで現在Dead Americanのフロントマンとして活躍するCove Reberがボーカル、リードギターにDon Vedda、ベースにJordan Flowerを加えたラインナップで行われた。

Crown The Empire : テキサス州ダラスのメタルコア・バンド、Crown The Empire (クラウン・ジ・エンパイア) が、新曲「Dancing with the Dead」をRise Recordsからリリースしました。この楽曲は、ワンテイク・ライブパフォーマンス・ビデオとしてRise RecordsのYouTubeチャンネルで公開されています。
バンドは2022年5月30日から「The Fallout 10 Year Anniversary Tour 」を開催する。
Power Trip のボーカリスト、Riley Gale (ライリー・ゲール) が2020年8月24日に急逝してからまもなく2年が経つ。Rileyが亡くなった直後は、彼に対する追悼モードがしばらく続いた。2022年、そのショックが次第に和らぐにつれ、Power Tripの残されたメンバー達は耐え難い立場に立たされることになったのだ。Rileyが亡くなった2020年、バンドの人気は急上昇中で、完全にブレイクしていたが、リーダーであったRileyを亡くしたバンドの選択肢はただひとつ、沈黙だった。
Karl Sanders : テクニカル・デスメタル・バンド、Nile (ナイル) のフロントマンとして知られるKarl Sandersが、13年振りにリリースするソロ・アルバム『Saurian Apocalypse』から、先行シングル「The Sun Has Set on the Age of Man」をリリースしました。
Karlは「The Sun Has Set on the Age of Man」についてこう語っている。

Rage Against the Machineの「Killing in the Name」のカバーはすでにLimp Bizkitのセットリストの定番だ。この曲を演奏する時、ボーカリストの Fred Durst は、デュエット相手を観客席から見つけ、「Dad Vibes」仕様の椅子に座らせています。 この椅子は、このツアーの小道具としてSNSでも話題になりました。Fredはツアーのすべてのショーのオープニングでこの椅子に座り、古いテレビのリモコンをいじりながら、「Dad Vibes 」の演奏を始めるのです。

2年振りのリリースとなったセカンド・アルバム。オリジナルメンバーのNiklasが脱退、新たにMarcusと交流のあったDeathbootのTobiasが加入し、レコーディングが行われた。前作で見せたファストでグルーヴィなテクニカル・ブルータル・デスメタル・サウンドを基調に、破壊力抜群のギターソロ、まくしたてるように展開されるガテラル・ヴォイスをカオスに炸裂させる。オープニングの「Merely Parts Remain」からアクセル全開で、ストップ&ゴーを巧みに操り、ゴリゴリのベースサウンドと雪崩のように繰り広げられるメランコリックなリフが終始畳み掛けてくる。
